About Lovells Bury Lodge

Lovells Bury masonic Lodge, No 4018 meets at the Ampthill Masonic Centre in Ampthill, along with several other masonic lodges.

It is thought that the founders of Lovells Bury Lodge choose the name from the name of a 13th century manor situated at nearby Potsgrove, the home of the Lovell family. Perhaps one of the founders had a connection in some manner to that area or the family itself; we just don’t know, but its nice to think there is that local link.

The meetings moved to Ampthill in 1928 and have been held there ever since, most recently in the Ampthill Masonic Centre, one of six masonic centres in Bedfordshire.

We meet six times each year for our official Lodge Meetings followed by a formal and most enjoyable meal called “The Festive Board”.

Meetings are held in the evening on the 4th Monday of September, October, November, February, March and April.
